IN-PERSON ANXIETY COUNSELLING IN CHILLIWACK + ONLINE ACROSS BC

Anxiety Counselling in Chilliwack, BC

Support for when worry, overthinking, or the need to stay in control begins taking up more of your life than you want it to.

Anxiety can make even ordinary moments feel loaded. Your mind races ahead to everything that could go wrong while your body remains tense, restless, or unable to settle. Counselling can help you understand the pattern, respond differently, and feel less governed by fear.

When Your Mind Won’t Let the Subject Drop

Anxiety has a way of turning one thought into twenty. A conversation is replayed long after it ends. A small decision becomes a maze of possible outcomes. Even when everything appears fine, part of you may remain alert for the moment it isn’t.

From the outside, you might look capable and composed. Inside, you’re exhausted from anticipating problems, questioning yourself, and trying to hold everything together.

Anxiety Can Look Like:

  • Persistent worry and overthinking

  • Feeling tense, restless, or unable to relax

  • Panic attacks or sudden waves of fear

  • Social anxiety and fear of judgment

  • School, work, or performance anxiety

  • Perfectionism and fear of making mistakes

  • Difficulty sleeping because your mind won’t switch off

  • Avoiding situations that feel uncertain

  • Seeking reassurance or second-guessing decisions

  • Physical sensations connected to stress

  • Feeling as though something bad is about to happen

you don’t have to do it alone

Anxiety may still have something to say. It doesn’t have to have the final word.

Understand the Anxiety Cycle

Anxiety often follows a pattern. A thought, sensation, memory, or situation triggers alarm. Your mind searches for danger, your body responds, and you reach for whatever offers the quickest relief.

You may avoid the situation, check something repeatedly, ask for reassurance, or try to think your way to absolute certainty. The relief is real, but usually brief. Before long, the worry returns and asks to be answered again.

Counselling can help you recognize this cycle and create a pause within it. Instead of treating every anxious thought as a warning, you can become more curious about what triggered it, what your body is doing, and what response might actually serve you.

Over time, progress may look surprisingly ordinary: sleeping without replaying the day, sending the email without rewriting it fifteen times, speaking honestly in a relationship, or enjoying a good moment without waiting for it to end.

A Practical, Mind-Body Approach to Anxiety Counselling

I offer anxiety counselling with warmth, curiosity, and respect for the ways you’ve learned to cope. Together, we’ll look at how anxiety moves through your thoughts, emotions, body, and everyday choices.

Depending on your needs, sessions may draw from mindfulness, emotional-regulation skills, and techniques informed by CBT and DBT. EFT tapping may also be incorporated as an optional grounding tool—never a requirement or the whole of the approach.

Anxiety Can Affect Anyone. Support Should Fit the Person.

Anxiety doesn’t look the same at every age or within every relationship. Find the counselling option that best reflects who is looking for support.
